On May 18, the AES Open House Seminar was held at Tsinghua University, School of Materials Science and Engineering, in Beijing, China.  The PHI 710 was installed at this laboratory last year which was presented to the participants through this seminar.

Following this seminar, the XPS Open Seminar and live demo at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, State Key Laboratory of Tribology was held on May 19 & 20.  The PHI Quantera II was also installed at this laboratory last year.

In both seminars, ULVAC-PHI’s lab scientist, Dr. Hsun-yun Chang, and Mr. Wensly Yip, from CoreTech Integrated Ltd., presented the basic and advances operations of the PHI 710 and Quantera II in Chinese followed with the MultiPak seminar on data interpretation. In the XPS seminar, the live XPS demo analysis was done using the PHI Quantera II.
